My Danish heritage was a big part of my childhood. Many Danish-American families lived near us and were members with us at West Denmark Lutheran Church.

Some of my favorite Danish traditions include folk dancing, Fastelavns, a Danish celebration the night before Ash Wednesday, and eating Æbleskiver, a special Danish pastry treat.
