For a long time the title of the story was The World According to Ida May. Even though my editor and I liked that title, it didn’t seem quite right. So we started brainstorming other title ideas. Here are a few we came up with:

Who Needs a Best Friend, Ida May?
Fourth Grade Wishes
Saving My Brain for Middle School
Walking to the Park Backwards

But those titles didn’t seem quite right either. Then
my editor thought of My Last Best Friend which we both
liked. What do you think? Did we choose the best title?
