In this deleted scene, Stacey’s grandma gives Ida the idea to use a secret name when writing notes to Stacey. In the final version of the story, Rachel Drews (Jenna’s little sister) gives Ida that idea.

I’m really glad I rewrote the story so that Rachel gives Ida the idea. It gives Rachel a bigger role in the story and deepens her friendship with Ida.
